After years and years of watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on television, my wife Kristin and I took to the streets of New York City on Thanksgiving to finally attend the parade in-person! We had to wake up at the crack of dawn to start the journey to the parade route, but we found a great spot right at the beginning and hunkered down. After about two hours of sitting in the cold wind tunnels that are the streets of New York City, the parade finally began! Here's what the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade looked like from our point of view:
Then, the Holiday's officially began when we saw Santa!
This was truly a "bucket list" experience for us both after growing up watching this every single year. I will say that if you are even the slightest fan of watching this parade, it is an amazing experience to see it live and in-person and you should totally make the trip. We certainly won't be going every year, but we are so glad we were able to do it at least once in our life! Happy Holidays everyone!
