Broward County, FL - A small plane had to make an emergency landing in the Florida Everglades on Tuesday morning after experiencing engine problems.
Authorities report the accident took place around 8:20 a.m. in western Broward County when the pilot and a passenger were on board the Cessna 172.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the plane was forced to land on a dirt road after engine failure.
The aircraft veered off the dirt road and ended up with its tail raised in the air.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and both occupants were able to safely exit the plane.
Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed the Cessna in an unstable position, with its rear end lifted off the ground.
After the emergency landing, the two individuals were transported to a command post at Holly Lakes Mobile Home Park, located nearby.
The FAA has launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the engine trouble that led to the emergency landing.
At this time, further details about the incident, including the identities of those involved, have not been made public.
The incident is being examined by the FAA to ensure the safety of future flights in the region.
Investigators will review the circumstances surrounding the engine failure and consider whether mechanical issues or other factors played a role.
