Volusia County, FL - A 78-year-old man was injured after the ultralight homemade airplane he was flying crashed last week.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office reported a crash of an ultralight homemade airplane, flown by 78-year-old Vincent Grasso.
On January 30th, witnesses reported seeing the airplane take two sharp left bank turns before its engine cut off and disappeared below the tree line in Oak Hill Woods.
Homeowners found the overturned aircraft in a tree, with Grasso unconscious and strapped in his seat.
He was rescued and transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where he was reported in stable condition.
