Hospitals in Southeast Florida have been taking in patients from hospitals in Southwest Florida.

When Ian came ashore on the Gulf Coast as a category 4 hurricane last week, it knocked out power and caused disruptions in water supplies.

Baptist Health South Florida, which operates several facilities including Bethesda Hospital East in Boynton Beach, says it has taken in 45 patients at its various locations from hospitals where the hurricane made landfall.

In addition, HCA Florida JFK Hospital in Atlantis has received nine patients from Lee Memorial in Fort Myers.
