Palm Beach County Sheriff & State Attorney Cleared In Epstein Work-Release

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has cleared the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and the state attorney's office of any wrongdoing in connection to the work release privileges and lack of criminal prosecution related to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

FDLE investigators found no evidence that then state attorney Barry Krischer "committed any crimes, accepted any bribes or gifts, or did anything improper in their handling of the case."

The investigation was ordered by the governor at the request of Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.

The disgraced money manager spent 13 months in the Palm Beach County stockade as part of a so-called "sweetheart" plea deal. While in custody, Epstein was allowed to leave jail seven days a week, and go to his Palm Beach mansion for hours at a time.

Epstein's death in his New York jail cell during the summer of 2019 was ruled a suicide.

The sheriff issued this response:

PBSO response:

In August of 2019, Sheriff Bradshaw, asked the Governor to assign the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), to investigate allegations that while on work release Jeffery Epstein was allowed to have sexual activity with minors. In addition, the Governor instructed FDLE to review actions of PBSO Deputies while Jeffery Epstein was on work release. After an extensive investigation FDLE determined that there was NO inappropriate or criminal activity on the part of any PBSO member with respect to their participation in Epstein’s work release or the permit detail. Even the attorney for the alleged victims stated, in a text response, that there is “NO alleged wrongdoing by the Deputies”.

At this time there is an on-going Internal Affairs investigation into any possible administrative violations. The results of which will be released in the near future. As you may recall the Sheriff also asked the Criminal Justice Commission to review the Work Release Program at PBSO. The results found that the program was of NO benefit to the Agency, and the Sheriff has since discontinued the program.

No additional statements will be made until the Internal Affairs Investigation is complete.
