It's National Safe Boating Week In Florida

It's National Safe Boating Week here in Florida just days before the unofficial start to summer with Memorial Day Weekend. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokeswoman Carol Lyn Parrish says the focus this year is on focus. She says people are getting the message-there were 628 accidents last year, that's down from 766 in 2017. If you are heading out on a trip wear your life jacket, file a float plan, designate a driver, have an emergency locator beacon and take a boat safety class.
