Shannon Nicole Womack, 39, has been arrested and charged with 43 counts, including identity theft and forgery, after allegedly posing as a nurse using 20 aliases and seven Social Security numbers. According to ABC News, Womack allegedly impersonated nurses from other states and worked at various healthcare facilities in Pennsylvania since 2020.

Womack's deception began during the COVID-19 pandemic when healthcare facilities were in dire need of staff. She secured jobs through staffing agencies by submitting fraudulent documents and even created a false LLC to self-deploy to multiple jobs. Police discovered her scheme after a routine traffic stop on Interstate 79 in April, where she provided false identification. A search of her vehicle revealed multiple forms of identification, prescription medications, and medical equipment.

As reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Womack worked at nine facilities in Western Pennsylvania and was wanted in several states, including Georgia and New Jersey, for related charges. She is currently held in Washington County Jail with a bail set at $250,000, and her preliminary hearing is scheduled for next month.
