Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell's postgame comment to Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell has become a viral joke after his team's upset playoff loss to the Washington Commanders in the NFC Divisional Round Saturday (January 18) night.

Campbell told O'Connell, "I'll see you in two weeks," after the Lions defeated the Vikings in Week 18 to clinch the NFC North Division title and No. 1 seed in the conference, with Minnesota dropping to the fourth seed. The two teams would've met in the NFC Divisional Game if the Vikings hadn't been upset by the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round on Monday (January 13).

The Lions faced a similar fate Saturday night and several social media users joked that Campbell would instead be seeing O'Connell in "Cancun," a popular offseason destination for players and coaches.

"Dan Campbell was right," @FBallAnalysisYT wrote on X. "Hopefully Kevin O'Connell has a piña colada ready for him in Cancun."

"Dan Campbell spotting Kevin O'Connell at the hotel bar in Cancun," X user Eli Berkovits wrote along with a gif of Michael Caine nodding to Christian Bale from the film The Dark Knight Rises.

The heavily-favored Lions were defeated by the Commanders, 45-31, with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels leading Washington to score 31 points in the first half and 14 in the fourth quarter.

“It just hurts to lose, man,” Campbell said as he teared up during his postgame press conference. “And I don’t care if you’re the 7-seed, 6-seed, 5-seed, 1-seed. Cause I’ve lost at all of them, damn near. And it stings and it hurts. It hurts. You have to get up, body’s beat to s–t, mentally stay locked in and do those things, so long season.”
