William Shatner is officially the oldest person to go to space at age 90. Captain Kirk got a real-life “Star Trek” experience yesterday, blasting off with Jeff Bezos’ space travel company Blue Origin.

The New Shepard rocket lifted off from the company’s west Texas launch site yesterday morning at 9:50am local time, and the whole thing was streamed live. Shatner was joined by former NASA engineer Chris Boshuizen, entrepreneur Glenn de Vries, and Blue Origin’s VP of mission and flight operations Audrey Powers. The flight went off without a hitch, and after just over 10 minutes they were greeted by Bezos himself upon landing.

Shatner choked up as he reflected on his space journey, thanking Bezos for “the most profound experience.” In fact, he was so inspired by the flight that he’s got another album in mind, about his “love of Earth, this warm, loving nourishing planet.”
