Hurricane Cristobal Forms in the Gulf of Mexico

The National Hurricane Center put out an advisory at 12:30 p.m. ET saying Tropical Depression Three had strengthened to 40 mph to become Cristobal.

Tropical Storm Cristobal is moving along the coast of Mexico and is expected to bring heavy rains as it heads North.

According to the NHC, Cristobal has already brought deadly flooding to parts of Guatemala and El Salvador and is expected to head towards Louisiana this weekend. They also think it will become a Category 1 hurricane over the weekend but it is too early to predict where landfall will be.
