Customers Help Lone Waffle House Employee

Customers at a Waffle House in Birmingham, Alabama jumped into action to help an employee who was working alone and trying to serve 30 people. Ethan Crispo was there and noticed the overwhelmed worker trying his best to run everything and then a customer went behind the counter to lend a hand.

Crispo then joined in and soon several other diners were helping to bus tables, wash dishes, and make coffee, while the one employee took orders and cooked them. Waffle House’s director of public relations blames the restaurant being short-staffed that night on a “scheduling miscommunication.” But Crispo isn’t complaining about lending a hand, in fact, it’s given him a positive outlook on others.

“Humanity isn’t good,” he says, “It’s great.”
