Wolfgang Van Halen Posts Happy Family Photo With Eddie, Valerie Bertinelli

2015 Billboard Music Awards - Show

A recent batch of photos shared by Wolfgang Van Halen via social media might just be coincidence, but it sure seems like Eddie Van Halen's only son is trying to reassure the world that his dad is well, despite rumors of his deteriorating health.

After Van Halen mysteriously pulled the plug on a planned summer tour this year, concerning rumors about Eddie's health began to spread. Longtime VH front man David Lee Roth did nothing to allay the whispers when he suggested that the legendary band was "finished."

It was recently revealed that the guitar icon has been traveling back and forth between the U.S. and Germany in recent years to fight throat cancer.

But this week alone, Wolfgang has shared multiple photos of his dad looking happy and healthy. The first photo was of Eddie snapping a pic for a fan before this week's Tool concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The irony of one of the most famous rock guitarists on the planet being asked for a photo at a rock concert and not being in it was not lost on Wolfgang. Earlier in the evening he shared a photo via Instagram Story of Tool's own Adam Jones excitedly posing for a photo with Eddie.

Two days later, Wolfgang shared a heartwarming batch of photos depicting himself with his father and mother — actress and TV personality Valerie Bertinelli — all together again (Eddie and Bertinelli divorced in 2007).

Wolfie's caption included simply the word "Family" with the red heart emoji. He indicated that the photos were taken by his uncle Patrick Bertinelli.

While Wolfgang, who has often defended his father via social media, has not directly addressed media reports about his dad's wellbeing, his story gels with others close to the family.

Eddie's longtime friend Steve Lukather of Toto recently insisted in an interview that he was certain concerns for Eddie's health were overblown.

And while Roth's comments may seem disturbing, the singer himself has stated recently that despite being in a band with Eddie and Alex Van Halen on and off since the '70s, the three don't get along and he keeps his distance.
