Thanks to its “Star Wars” idea, Barbie is once again a hot seller on Amazon.

Mattel announced their new “Star Wars” collection of Barbie Dolls, inspired by the 1977 film “Star Wars: A New Hope.” Mattel and Disney teamed up on this special collection based on characters from the movies. The three high-fashion dolls are available for pre-order now and are inspired by the concept art for Princess Leia, Darth Vader, and R2-D2. The three new Barbies wear high-fashion designs based on Princess Leia, Darth Vader and R2-D2, and include accessories.

Each Barbie is 100-dollars and goes on sale November 18th, but two days after the announcement pre-orders pushed the Barbies into the Amazon top 20 of best-selling toys. It’s the first time in recent memory that the iconic doll has been this hot a seller.

  • The Princess Leia Barbie comes with the character’s famous hairstyle and she’s wearing a long, glamorous white dress with floor-length sleeves and a silver corset belt.
  • For the Darth Vader Barbie, Mattel swaps his trademark helmet for some stylish shades and the Barbie is dressed in a shiny full-on black look, complete with a cape.
  • The R2-D2 Barbie doll has blue hair and “radar eye” makeup and she’s wearing a geometric outfit with blue designs that resemble the droid, along with some white thigh-high boots and a white bomber jacket.

They each come with unique packaging highlighting the iconic character and they’ll be available in November. For now, check out all the photos on the listings on Amazon.com.

Next up for Barbie: a series of dolls honoring the Marvel Comics Universe. We can’t wait to see their take on Hulk Barbie…or even Iron Man!
