MLB Umpire Honors Teen Ump Whose Call Led to Youth Game Brawl

Josh Cordova is a 13-year-old little league umpire from Denver, Colorado. He was recently officiating a baseball game with seven and eight year old players. One of his calls caused an all out brawl between 12 adults. Josh called a player out for batting out of order, and it sparked the battle.

The video of the fight went viral and caught the attention of Major League Baseball umpire Chris Guccione. Guccione was impressed by the call and the fact that Josh stood by his decision so he invited Josh and family to a Colorado Rockies game. MLB umpires have a charity called Umps Care and they gave Josh official MLB umpire gear and treated him to an amazing experience.

As if being an umpire isn't hard enough, this kid is 13 and was more mature than the parents at the field that day. Josh you rock and I hope this doesn't deter you from your dream of becoming an umpire. Thank you to the umps that took the time to recognize him, atta baby "blue"! That's your GOOD NEWS, BABY.
