Billionaire Commencement Speaker Pays Off Student Loans for Entire Class

Over 400 graduates got the gift (and surprise) of a lifetime at Morehouse College over the weekend. Robert F. Smith was the commencement speaker and received an honorary doctorate degree. During his speech, he made the announcement that he was PAYING OFF ALL OF THEIR STUDENT LOAN DEBT. Smith is a billionaire who set up a grant worth over $40 million dollars to be used to eliminate the loans.

"On behalf of the eight generations of my family that have been in this country, we're gonna put a little fuel in your bus," Smith told the class. "This is my class and I know my class will pay this forward".

Congratulations to this class on their degrees and this amazing gift from Smith and family!
