Paralyzed Father Surprises Daughter on Her Wedding Day Down the Aisle

A paralyzed father worked over two and a half years in rehab so he could walk his daughter down the aisle. He had an extra surprise in store at the reception too. Get the tissues, this is your good news, baby!

Gina and Mark Ross got engaged in 2016, but wedding plans were placed on hold when Jim Stamp, a father of the bride, was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome. GBS affects the nerves located outside of the brain and spinal cord.

Jim was paralyzed and even spent five months in the hospital. He eventually went home, however, he was wheelchair bound.

He decided right then to start physical therapy several times a week. Over the course of a year, he graduated to a cane instead of his wheelchair. Determined to walk his daughter down the aisle, the cane wasn't good enough for Jim! He continued therapy several times a week. He did all of this without telling his daughter.

The bride, Gina, said she knew her dad was working hard in therapy, but what she didn't know was how hard he was working. "I made it very clear to him that I did not care how he got me down the aisle or what our dance looked like. If it meant he was on a walker or in his chair, it didn’t matter."

On her big day, her father surprised her by walking her down the aisle with only a simple cane. The real shock came during the father-daughter dance. Jim worked hard enough to dance without any assistance whatsoever!

She was shocked! Check out the photos and video montage below.
