"TrashTag" Challenge is Taking Off and We Love It

There are all kinds of ridiculous things on line, including challenges that dare people to do incredibly dumb and usually dangerous things. Finally, there's a new viral challenge taking over and it may be the best thing spreading on social media.

Byron Román posted a photo on Facebook of a before and after. The 'before' was him standing in an area that was littered with trash, and the 'after'? Him standing in the same area with all the trash bagged up neatly and ready to be taken away. He used the hash tag, #trashtag. The caption for the photo was, "Take a photo of an area that needs some cleaning or maintenance, then take a photo after you have done something about it, and post it,” he wrote.

His post has been shared by over 300,000 people and now people of all ages from all over the world are getting involved, posting their before and after photos on Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, and Facebook. Byron says he hoped to “inspire a few to do something positive” instead of making the news about Tide Pods or Bird Box. Let’s hope this #TrashTag trend continues and people keep cleaning up the planet.
