Green Bean Casserole Creator Passes Away at 92

Even if you never knew her name, this amazing woman has been a HUGE part of every Thanksgiving Dinner in America since 1955. Dorcas Reilly, created a Thanksgiving MVP......the green bean casserole. The creamy, crunchy dish has been a staple at holiday tables for over 63 years. Reilly created the recipe for Campbell’s Soup Company and it has been a hit ever since.

Her original recipe card was donated to the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2002. "Dorcas was an incredible woman, whose legacy will live on for years to come," Campbell's said in a statement. "She will be missed by her Campbell colleagues and all those who were impacted by her creativity and generous spirit."

Dorcas Reilly passed away back on October 15th from Alzheimer’s disease. She was 92. So when you’re dining on your turkey dinner this Thanksgiving, have a bite and toast to Dorcas!
