What's a "baby classic" you ask? When a hit turns 25 years old it is officially considered a "classic hit". To put that in perspective, any song from 1993 or earlier is technically a classic, and the youngest of those we call baby classics.
Give me an epidural so this "baby don't hurt me"...........
The week's BABY CLASSIC is:
Haddaway, "What is Love" (1993)
Wikipedia describes Haddaway as a "Trinidadian-German Eurodance artist". One thing they left out was....one-hit-wonder. Haddaway's "What is Love" never reached #1 on the Billboard chart in the United States but it did in THIRTEEN other countries. In the U.S. this song climbed the charts for seven weeks.
"What is Love" was resurrected by the famous SNL skit "The Roxbury Guys" in 1996 which inspired a feature length film "Night at the Roxbury" in 1998.
