BABY CLASSIC: Roxette's "Must Have Been Love"

What's a "Baby Classic" you ask? It's a mega-hit that has just recently been birthed into "classic hits" status (a.k.a. 25+ years old!)

It must have been young..... but it's over now!!!! Welcome to the classic hit club!

The week's BABY CLASSIC is:

Roxette, "Must Have Been Love" (1990)

"Must Have Been Love" reached #1 on Billboard Chart's Hot 100 this week in 1990. It was on top for 2 weeks before being bumped by "Step by Step" from New Kids on the Block. This was the biggest hit for the Swedish duo Roxette and was featured on the blockbuster hit movie, "Pretty Woman".

Let's reminisce about 1990:

  • Cost: The price of a loaf of bread: $0.70
  • Pop Culture: "I've Fallen and I Can't Get Up" debuted in fall of 1989, but was the catch phrase of 1990.
  • Celebrity Deaths: Jim Henson (Muppets) and Stevie Ray Vaughn
  • Movies: "Total Recall", "Dick Tracy", "Days of Thunder"
