As cool as this concept is, it also SCARES THE POOP OUT OF ME!!!
LOVE Amazon and all the products it has to offer...from it's 2-Day Free Shipping, to the ease of online shopping and all the great programs on Amazon Video. BUT...this scares me! The very first (of many I'm sure) full-sized Amazon Go Grocery located in Seattle - as in a supermarket that has NO HUMANS working there! (Well, maybe the will be some to stock the shelves, not sure if we have robots that can do that yet), but there are NO cashiers! You simply walk around the store, get your items, place them in your cart...and LEAVE! Through today's technology, the items you take will be tracked by your Amazon Go Phone App, and automatically deduct what you take out of the store from your bank account! Super cool technology - BUT, I've always been a little nervous of the technology that eliminates the need for humans. I feel like it takes us just one step closer to how humans are portrayed in the Pixar movie Wall-E. Remember, we are all lazy fat slobs that forget how to walk, because EVERYTHING is automated?
