Could the Summer Olympics be cancelled?

The time for a BIG decision is drawing near...and it is a TOUGH one!

The Summer Olympics are scheduled to start up in five months in Tokyo. This means the Olympic Committee will have just three of those months to decide if they should cancel the event because of the coronavirus. If the committee decides to cancel the Olympics, it will be the first cancellation since 1944. And, it would be a huge financial blow as Japan spent $12.6 billion on the event.

This will seriously stink! Just think about all the athletes from around the world whose dreams have come true earning a trip to the Olympics to compete for their country...and now it MAY not happen. The committee still has a few months to watch and see what this stupid virus brings and how it's controlled. Let's hope for everyone's sake the virus gets reasonably contained and the games go on!
