New Kids on The Block, "Step by Step" (1990)
"Step by Step" sold 3 million copies upon its release. Both the song and album (also named "Step by Step") debuted on the billboard charts at #1. Some say New Kids on The Block was the original boy band. Their meteoric rise to fame in the late 80's and early 90s paved the way for future successes like N'SYNC and The Backstreet Boys. The success of NKOTB led to record breaking revenue in merchandise sales, concert tickets, and even resulted in an NKOTB animated television show.
